  • Born on 4 June 1965 in Salzburg (Austria)
  • Finished (secondary education) the private school Herz-Jesu-Missionare in Salzburg
  • Studied medicine at the universities of Innsbruck and Vienna
  • In 1987, as part of the foreign exchange programme, spent one semester working at the University Clinic Bichat-Claude Bernard in Paris (France)
  • In 1993 promoted to the degree known in the German-speaking world as Dr med univ.
  • Assistant at the Institute for Anatomy 1993-5
  • Studied for the degree ‘Specialist in Surgery’ (FA für Chirurgie) at the clinic of Hainburg from 1995 to 2001
  • Holds the title ‘Specialist in Surgery’ since 1 September 2001
  • In 1998 again a 6-months’ practice at the University Clinic Bichat-Claude Bernard in Paris specializing in orthopedics, hand and peripheral nerve surgery
  • From 2003 to 2006 studied trauma surgery at the University Hospital Clinic Lorenz Böhler in Vienna (Austria)
  • Awarded the degree ‘Specialist in Trauma Surgery’ on 1 May 2006
  • In 2006-7 worked as a practicing specialist in trauma surgery at the University Hospital Clinic Lorenz Böhler in Vienna
  • Since 2004 – research associate at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Clinical and Experimental Traumatology Research at the AUVA (Allgemeine Umfalversicherungsanstalt) in Vienna. Research focus: posttraumatic regeneration in the peripheral nervous system
  • Since 2008 – Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (ICS, Chicago, USA)
  • From February 2009 to December 2014: Head of the Department of Surgery focusing on the accident & hand surgery at the Regional Hospital Hainburg
  • Specialist in hand surgery from 1 June 2011
  • From January 2015: Medical Director and Head of Traumatology at the Lorenz Böhler Accident Hospital
  • Habilitation in trauma surgery and obtaining the teaching qualification (‘Privatdozent’) on 3 November 2015 at the Medical University Paracelsus
